So my brother has a Leadtek 6800LE that we would like to flash to a GT, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this, or more precisely, which BIOS I need. Its a 128MB card, but the only GT BIOSs I can find on mvktech.net are for 256MB GTs. Will this work? I also found a 6800 TDH BIOS...what is this? Also, whats the deal with pipe and shader unlocking? does this only apply to NUs? Thanks!

First of all, do_not_do_anything_unless_you_are_100%_sure_it_is_ right.
Or unless you have enought money to blow it off. Pipes and shaders are what drives the card, more = better, first check with Ntune to see if you can unlock them.
But remember, to read the stickies too!

Only flash bioses when you have to otherwise they can cause problems, especially if you dont have much info on the card.

Also you are in luck go download riva tuner and enable the masked hardware units. You will be able to try to unlock to 16/6 no problem and the only thing preventing you from staying that way is if some of them are damaged.

good luck unlocking the pipes. I have a 6800 LE (same manufactuer as well) and I unlocked it to 16/6. I could only overclock mine 50 Mhz core and memory after on the stock heatsinkthough. I dont know what I could do if I watercooled it, but I may be able to get it to 500. I dont have any plans to watercool it though....

first make shure you can run at the gt specs. if you use the leadtech gt bios then you will need to use riva tuner to unlock the pipes and shader and make shure you can run at the clocks as well.

i may be mistaken but dident the le use DDR2 and the gt and ultra use DDR3? if this is the case then you can flash your card to a GT since the memory clocks would be to high for the DDR2 memory your card has. But useing riva tuner you might be able to unlock the pipes and shader and run the core at the GT clock but just not the memory and come close to the GT proformace.

PS watch your temps. The GT and ULTRA had the huge monster heatsinks compared to the LE. So i dont know how much heat that can cope with. But i wish you luck and post your results.

The 6800nu and le use 128mb of gddr1 running at around 750mhz stock the memory on this card is the limiting factor and has no chance of even hitting 1ghz under normal conditions.

there is no reason what so ever to flash this card to a 6800gt unless you want your computer to explode.

ok i knew it wasent DDR3. i was looking at the leadtech 6800. the one on newegg open box. and the reviews i found on it was DDR2 and clocked at 700mhz.

i wouldn't say no chance, i could get my LE to 920mhz memory. I think it's possible to hit 1ghz, maybe with a vmod (i never vmodded). But yea, dont go flash crazy, use rivatuner to unlock the pipes and shaders once by one and MAKE SURE they work, then, if you want, you can modify your bios to have them unlocked all the time, and work on an overclock which you can later flash as well. But dont do anything if you dont know what your doing.

donr forget about ddr3 memory timeings
