looks like officemax wants to clear their WD hdds out, most stores have the following:
320gig for $59.99
250gig for $55.00
200gig for $50.00
80gig for $45.00
YMMV, some stores are different, but most likely they wil be the same price!

im gonna go pick up a 320GB for my enclosure i just bought..

Good deals. Just a word of caution for those unaware: WD retail drives only carry a 1-year warranty. :(

Most of the HDDs that I've replaced are WD too. That's the only thing preventing me from jumping on this one.

Really? My WDs have been chugging along just fine while my Maxtor's don't like to stay among the living. I'd be all over this if 1) I had money and 2)there was an officemax near me. Infact, I'd starve so I could afford two of those 360s if there was an OfficeMax near me!

Darn it I walked 2.5 miles down to my local office max, which I had never been to before, it was all run down and they only had one WD HDD that was an 80gb PATA and the price was not marked down. I prob could have gotten it at 50 bucks or whatever it was supposed to be, but thats not worth it to me I wanted at least a 200gb drive.

Oh well at least I stopped off at the local Korean supermarket on the way and got some Korean food that I am cooking now so the 5 mile trip was not fully in vain.

That is a good deal. It like a 100 mile drive for me to get one though. If there was one close I'd be there.

If you cant get to an officemax, bestbuy has the same one and will probably pricematch if you can get a printed price from officemax

Unfortunately most stores will only price match a competitors advertised price. Since this ad simply says 50% off there is nothing to match to.

Just went to circuit city and they pricematched. They gave me problems untill I told them to call the store, which they did and I walked away with 320gigs for 59$

I hate you all! ;)

I really don't want to spend the $$ on more hard drives since I just bought a 160gb Raptor, but this is a awesome deal. I'm going to have to stop at OM tomorrow, they're kitty-corner from where I work. I should have gone today but it slipped my mind.

Don't sweat it Erock, the odds are that your Office Max was out of stock due to the employees snapping them up the morning that the sale started. I got one, but the employee I talked to knew the inventory level without looking it up because he had personally raided the supply :)

while i agree they got first dibs on what they want i doubt they could clean it out depending on how many drives were on hand... they aren't exactly making lots of cash at their job.

Unfortunately most stores will only price match a competitors advertised price. Since this ad simply says 50% off there is nothing to match to.

Most retail electronics stores (like Best Buy) will not price match because places like Staples and Office Max are not considered competitors.

Regardless of whether someone gets the price match, it's manager discretion so mileage will vary.

Got there, and they had completely run out. I was walking out slightly depressed, when I noticed someone had put something very HDD-looking back on the table after carrying it around a bit. Ran over to find a 250GB for $55. :D So I switched out my 200GB Seagate external for my new 250, then put my 200 into my rig permanently. That puts me at 570GB internal and 820GB internal+external. :D :D :D

I checked in my local Office Max and they are sold out. However, there is a CompUSA in the same shopping center and I noticed they have a Western Digital 250GB SATA HD (http://compusa.shoplocal.com/compusa/default.aspx?action=detail&flashbrowse=y&storeid=2402234&rapid=310840&pagenumber=1&listingid=-2094528887&ref=%2fcompusa%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowsepag eflash%26storeid%3d2402234%26pagenumber%3d1%26rapi d%3d310840%26prvid%3dCompUSA-060903) for only $49.99 (after a $90 eRebate). I almost got it, but I'm not a big fan of rebates. Anyone have any experience with CompUSA's eRebates?

Yeah they've come through for me but take forever.

Office Depot did have a 160gb for $20 after a $70 rebate if anybody cares.

i asked them how much a laserjer 4 toner cart would cost and they said "there was never a laserjet 4 ever made"

and pay days tommorow

Only one 80GB drive left when I went there about 4 hours ago.

Oh well, I wasn't depending on it and I was in the area anyways. Still would be nice to have a little more space!

Office Max on HWY 49 in Charlotte has a bunch of 200gig drives left, but they have them marked at $60. They had one 320 gig drive left, had a price of $149 on it. Had them price check it, and they still wanted $149 for it, saying the orginal price was $229. Forget that...

I think I'll just buy the Seagate from Newegg for $94, it's 320gigs and Sata.

So they finnaly axed it then. I thought it was gone long ago then about 5 days ago it was working, that code worked most of the summer.

Good to know thought, guess that means I wont be getting another one myself for awhile.

I have done that SO many times...the two stores being on the same freakin street doesn't help much either.

Can't hurt to try!
