Hi! :welcome:
I know some of you could give me a shot of what i shall get. :burn:

And at least 1  of you can look at my current settings and then know EXACTLY wich MB to buy. I would call me a novice with a minor + upwards.
current.
asus a8vDeluxe wifi - 3500+ amd (939)
1gb kingston dual ram
2x300gb sataraid (stripe)
geforce 6600GT agp :bang head

I've seen some cards that allso support agp, yet offcours pci express.
Is that stupid ?. oO''''recently got the agp card :(
Thanks !!
Why do you want a new mobo, the only good board for socket 939 that supports both agp and pci-e natively is the ASrock 939Dual-SATA2 board, pretty good from what I've heard.

The asrock Vista supports pci-e/agp and DDR/DDR2 but that is a intel board.

I had an AsRock Duel SATA2 (939) for about 9-10 months with my Opty 165 ; it was a great and very stable board . Wish the oc options of cpu/mem voltages were a tad better (more available) , but it still oc'ed very decent . I did use the AsRock with both ATI/AGP and a 7800GT/PCIE while I owned it and never had a problem with either format . I only recently changed to an Abit AN8 32X for future SLi usage .
For price , stability and future AGP to PCIE v/card upgrade ; I can highly recommend the AsRock Duel SATA2 (939) !

Thanks very much..
Have taken a look at the asrock.
They seem better than the experience i had with them 5 years ago.
Thinking i'll get the dual sata2.
And why i want a new one is that im sooooo tired that my really nice cpu fan dont fit correct on my mobo, its a 4 pin plug and the mobo only supports 3 pins.
So fan allways runs at lowest revolutions. It pains my brain.
Thanks again..
Nice forum

BTW... :welcome: to the forums sup3rbuck !!! :bday: :santa:
If you do go with the AsRock Duel SATA2 , I'll make a suggestion also ...
Before you install the board , take off both chipset heatsinks and replace the factory thermal paste with some "Artic Silver 5" . Just use a very small/thin layer/amount ; then replace the sinks on the board . Doing this will insure alittle better chipset cooling (since they are passively cooled) and and even more stability ; specially if you plan to overclock . ;)

Can i just throw in a quick question.
I just put my hand on my sata drive, it is so hot that i cant hold my finger on it  ... Normal ?
Or is it about to burn out !!!!
Thanks very much..

What do the pins look like? AFAIK pentium/Core boards are the ones that use the 4 pin fan header, unless ofcourse your talking about the 4pin molex.

Well I never touched mine, but they do run pretty hot, run speedfan and see if it picks up the hdd temp, mine is usually around 30c or mid 40c.

hmmm.
No it dosnt.
Stays steady at 126c. I have the 2xsata and 1 "normal" HD, must be HD0 wich is a maxtor 120gb i use for backup.
I'll take a 10min shutdown and reboot box, see if temp is different ..

Glad to hear it !
Enjoy ;)
BTW , you may or may not run across slower frame rates while using an AGP card (if you dont notice it or dont have any problem dont worry about) . If you do , then let me know as its a only a driver change needed to fix (Microsoft vs ULi) . The driver is for the AGP slot slot on the board , NOT the v/card itself . Link to info about the AGP driver : http://www.ocwforums.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=40579
Like I said if you dont have the problem its probably been fixed already with an update and you can just ignore this :p .
