View Full Version : overclocking Asus TUV4X + Celeron II 1Ghz
Hello!
A good day to you all. Has anyone had any success with the Asus TUV4X MoBo and Celeron 1ghz? i can only seem to bring it up to 1150Ghz(stable).
will setting the CPU voltage to 3.62(?) help?
Any suggestions on how to go about it?

Ummm...you might want to check the voltage again, because if you mean Core voltage that is a tad bit high. Just letting you know.

A tad high? :D
That CPU voltage, I wouldn't go above 2.0 with really good cooling.
I'm not sure if your board has voltage change, but it might have been allowed with a newer bios release in which youd have to flash it.
Wait till someone with the board can tell you the specifics.
ps. I think your talking about the voltage that is supplied to your ram, pci slots etc.

He's not talkig about the Vcore voltage. There are no Vcore adjustments on the TUV4X. What he's looking at is a jumper to set the V I/O voltage to 3.6 instead of the default 3.3. What this does is increase the voltage to ALL of the components on the MB. Video card, net card, modem, etc... Not just the CPU. Problem is that it could burn out more than just your CPU if things go wrong. That's why I haven't done it on my MB yet. I'm willing to risk my CPU but that's about it. Bumping the V I/O is a little too risky for me. This is more along the lines of something you'd have to do. (http://http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46803)
If you even think about doing this check to makesure which pins to connect, as the thread in the link is for the 1.2 Celeron which may differ from the 1.0. I don't think it does, but I'd double check to make sure, and then check again.
Hello!
Yah, its the V I/O...sorry about that.

Upping your VIO probably won't help, and I'd definately say it's not worth it. You need a bump in core voltage.
Which you can't do on your board.
So your only choice is vid-pinning.
Zuck Gou is right, boosting that 3v mark won't help you need to boost your core for stablity and such.

Boosting the V I/O on this board increases everything, it may infact allow a we bit more stability for a short while. But the trade off is that you may burn out some or all of your components doing it.
Hello All,
the 1003 Award flash update seems to have added a CPU Vcore item on the BIOS config. ... problem is,u can only set it to 1.76V ...i'mjust hoping that future updates can let u fiddle with it.
btw...i've had some success running it at 1280Mhz, but at times it does lock up...any idea what's causing it? My hunch is the CPU temp.
The hardware monitor reports a CPU temp of 48-49 C --- not a good thing, right?
Anyways i got myself an Enermax 350W PS that's supposed to provide casing cooling...a lot heavier than the ones you see in clones, both physically and financially....i'll keep you guys posted.

What are you using to cool that Celly?
Those temps are too high, (especially if thats not under load), so I'd recommend using a better HSF. If you want cheap and effective for Cellys, a Volcano 6 is a good choice combined with some Arctic Silver II.
Good luck

Yep, I'm gonna wait for a month or two before try the vid-pinning. I want to make sure there's not a future update that will let me mod the Vcore, before I start messing with wire wrapping. Not to mention I also want to make sure I can purchase another CPU if things go horribly wrong.
Hello All,
Just got a 5x5 12V DC fan yesterday, and placed it on the lower front end of the casing( to suck the air in from the front vents). i managed to get the cpu temp down to 40-45C this way, but man is that fan loud!
