Mounting Swfitech APOGEE

I just got my APOGEE yesterday. I read the mounting manual and it says to leave the retention bracket in place. Do I have to? Can't I just screw it on like I did my old water block? BTW its going on an Asus 8AN-32 SLI D.

You may remove the retention bracket, but it provides stability to the WB if that is important to you.

i removed the retention bracket for my apogee, you dont need it, just a hassle.

It's gone! Wasnt there from my previous W/C setup.
