My monitor doesn't sleep!

Hey ppl...i have this Viewsonic, 17" Flat, which when it goes to sleep, it doesn't really turns off!!
the screen goes black, but there is a cursor blinking on the right top corner....
anything I can do to actually turn off the tube?!
oh i love this monitor...unlike my Sony trinitron which takes 10 seconds to load and turn on, my viewsonic takes only 2-3 seconds!! i like that!

I have a NEC MultiSync FE700+ 17" flat screen, and when it goes to sleep mode the light is still on but turns orange telling me that the monitor is in fact in sleep mode, i can also hear it click. Maybe your monitor is in sleep mode, remember that sleep mode isnt "off" so the light might still stay on.

Try going into the bios---->power settings. Set the monitor off mode to dpms support.
