I just got an Alpha 8045 heatsink and it doesnt come with a fan, what fan do you guys recommend for max cooling and low noise, noise isnt really a problem though since i will be getting a baybus soon.
thanx

It depends on your overclock, and your capacity to put up with loud fans...
A good 80mm fan, just about any one would do, but for a serious overclock you may need a high capacity fan, most often used is a "delta" fan...

sorry, i forgot to mention that the heatsink requires a 80mm fan
I like this fan its a Sunon 80x25mm fan (a little thin) 50cfm 40dba not to load with pretty nice air flow. You could always buy a high output Delta 80x38 68 cfm 48.5dba sounds like a hair dryed I would know I have two both intake fans for my setup.

dang, that delta fan is pretty darn loud, do yall think that its worth it?
I just got one of those heatsinks too. Still waiting for it to arrive. I'm planning on using a pair of 50 cfm Sunon fans and a duct. For maximum cooling, you should get the delta 68cfm. If you are already deaf, try finding the Delta 80cfm fan.
It's all a matter of finding a balance you can live with. I judged the Sunon to be the best balance of noise and power. If you're less noise tolerant, check out Panaflo.

i just made my decision, i got the ultra-cool clear fan on sidewindercomputers.com and it has a variable speed which is good. I listened to it and it is also very, very quiet. I dont even know if its on! Well, thanks for the info, sidewinder was a great site for fans.
Thanks again,
