Holy mother of hell!!! I'm having a baddddd freakin day here to say the least. My Conroe motherboard died so i'm back to my P5WD2-P and 651 Cedar Mill. I'm trying to re-install windows and once again my dvd drive can't be detected. I have one Sata HDD plugged into port 1, i have my dvd drive plugged into the Blue IDE port, when i boot to the Bios the dvd drive can't be detected no matter what i choose! Can someone kindly tell me what i'm doing wrong before i drop kick this freakin computer in the street!! Thanks in advance.

Have you tried reseting Mobo Bios using on board jumper??

Have you tried another IDE cable?

Have you tried settings your DVD drive to slave or master, or cable select?

Have you tested your DVD drive in another system?

Yes to all of those questions. :) The drive was just working fine minutes before i swapped everything out. I tried a couple other drives as well just to make sure.
