Hey all,
I've been toying with the idea of asking for some wireless headphones for christmas to use with my 'puter. I want some really nice ones that don't use a lotta battery juice (wish they didn't have to use battery's at all, but oh well) because I find it annoying to keep batteries in the house and one's that have a strong signal. Also, they need to be less than 70/80 bucks; I need other stuff too! :P
Thank you thank you thank you in advance. I'm not familiar with stereo equipment-headphones.
Just mod your new headphones with solar panels... :D I don't know if there would be enough space on the headphones to stick enough of um, but who knows.... Then you could run without batteries like you want!! Just not in a dark room.... :D

I'm still not understanding really the difference between any of these besides what kinda batteries they use and how long they last. The advent one's seem darned annoying...having to change 3 AAA batteries every 10 hours would get extremely annoying. That'd be like putting in new one's every other day at the very least!
I want one's that use a radio frequency rather than IR, too right?
Back to working on that lightbulb mod...

I bought a set for $50 last year for my grandfather. I think they were Sony, I do not remember. They did not work as well as I would like. They have a lot of static and sound different if you turn your head.

AKG makes some quality products and they have about 10 different models that are wireless.

These are very cool due to the SRS technology, actually before Microsoft started implamenting SRS into its Media browser I got to beta test SRS products and any wireless product using SRS gets a big thumbs up in my book.....matter of fact I need to buy these. Ive been pretty happy using fairly cheap AIWA HP-X222 corded headphones, but they only have one wire going into the left headset and a HUGE MUTE button on the left headset as well.

OMG, those rule a ton! They are pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. 20 hour battery that recharges via stand. long listening range. But, I can't find a webiste that sells them in the US anywhere!
I think I want these, given that the price is right. If you can find me a link to a distributor I would be most grateful :D

I looked there, all I saw was a buncha e-mail addys. I dl'd their pricelist and no wireless headphones were listed on there. I also looked in their headphones area in akgusa.com and no wireless headphones/prices there either. Am I just very fool or are they good at not showing me their prices?

I hate to say it, but Radio Shack has a few types of wireless headphones that fit the bill. They are actually made by RCA and sold at RS, thank god. One of the few good products we sold:)
If you have flourescent lighting anywhere near where you will be using the 'phones however, forget it. They interfere something awful with the signal, as will anything that dumps out RF- this might even include a monitor but I hope not.
