This is for the Intel 975x motherboard...These powersupplies are so damn expensive!

I guess my antec smartpower 2.0 won't work right?

PSU's with 8-pin (not 8V) aren't typically more expensive. But they do tend to be better power supplies.

So the Antec is a bad powersupply? I always thought Antec were good supplies.

Antec is a mixed bag. You can't use blanket statements like "Antec is good" when discussing such a wide range of products.

True Power's are ok if properly ventilated (is not the sole means of exhausting hot air from the chassis. Otherwise, caps tend to blow.) Smart Powers are cheap power supplies.

For example: Someone with a Seasonic built Antec Trio 650W shouldn't be suggesting CWT built Antec Basiq 350W PSU's because of their own personal experience with Antec. ;)

In all fairness, let's say you can do worse (Deer, Powmax, Codegen...)
