the other day, my comp teacher was talking about thermal paste when he said it was posinous, not to let it touch yourskin, saying it contained mercury. isnt reg. thermal past aluminum oxide or something? i would think that if it contained mercury there would be some warnings or something? there have been many times that i was working on my comp and got thermal paste on my hands/skin and just didnt bother to wash it off till my next shower. so . . . any danger?

LOL, another ignorant liberal "teaching." Check out the MSDS for the various manufacturers of thermal grease. I have yet to find one that contains mecury.

That's pretty sad...

My A+ Hardware class teacher said that "modem" stands for "Mode M", as in "Mode A", "Mode B", "Mode C", etc, all the way to M. He said "M" was the FCC's code for data transmission over phone lines.

Gawd!

I kindly pointed out that "modem" stands for "MODulator/DEModulator", and he UNpolitely disagreed, even though my classmates agreed with me. I even showed him the definition from a book that was required by my other computer class. He still wouldn't believe me.

Some people...

Even white thermal paste is likely to be Aluminium Oxide not mercury, it's highly unlikely anyone would use mercury in a thermal paste just because it'd suck let alone the health risks. :p

one of the many reasons why i took all my high school classes as independant study or thru the college as post-secondary (read FREE ;) )

i can't stand 90% of the teachers i had....which isn't in itself bad...since u can learn alot from some "a$$holish" teachers...but they were just bad...

im still wondering if i want to go to college or not...on one side...i want the degree...and a road to a better job....but on the other side a lot of the teachers i had during PS didn't impress me much more than my high school teachers....sad...

oh...and i didn't mention the students....sigh...

if only you could learn at home for a better carreer....LOL (if only that tv ad was actually valid)
