Currently got my SB128 plugged in, but I'm ordering my EPoX 8KHA+ tonight, and my SB Live! is going in it.......

M-audio Delta1010 Costs nearly 1/2 a "regular" PC=) Also a $10K B&W sound system to go w/ it.
I've been thru':
Philips Acoustic Sound-SP/DIF is software controlled and crackles, goes out, sounded awful
SBLive! w/ Live! Drive-crap drivers
Game Theater XP-crap drivers again..via, dual, or both are the bane of all drivers=\
SB128-Funny, I liked these. That was way before I got real speakers though.
Aureal2500-Liked this too. A3D rocked

SB PCI512. As much as the ISA bus had to hit the road..I'm gonna miss my SB AWE32. ( moved to an epox 8kha+)Truly a great card, and the standard by which all later SB cards were founded on. Let's all hold a moment of silence for the demise of a fine component.

If you really want the BEST sound card on the market right now, you have to get the Creative Audigy. Either the Audigy Gamer, or the Audigy Platinum. I have the Audigy Platinum, and I tell you what...Every game I play has sounded like a totally new game. The Audigy has superior sound compared to any other card on the market. The EAX HD is AWESOME! It is an expensive sound card, but to me it was worth every penny of the $200.00 I spent on it! You can get just the Audigy Gamer for $100.00 which the only difference between that and the Platinum is that the Platinum comes with more software, and a card that goes in one of your drive bays, that has a firewire port on it. It also has remote control. Great card, I love mine! Now if I could only afford the Klipsch 5.1 speakers to go with it :) Those are $400.00 speakers, but they are the best you can get!

It depends on what you're going to use it for.
My card (AWE64 Gold, $200+ back then) is an ISA card, and ISA cards are the best for analog recording (at least I don't know of a PCI card that can beat ISA)
The BEST (ISA) card would be a Terratec EWS64 XXL ($600......if you can get your hands on one).
Well guys, I'm still plodding along here in the Jurassic Period with the now ancient, but useable, SB16PCI card. It isn't too fancy, but it makes noise and that's about all my pitiful speakers can handle in any event. Some day...well, you know. :D
i had an awe64 gold once.
now im using the horrible onboard c-media cmi8738.
am possible going to be alone as an onboard poster.
i am using my Soundblaster Audigy Plantinum 5.1 sound card with Cambridge Soundworks DTT 3500 Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound desktop theater system, it sounds awesome!:) :burn: :D ;)
Bah What a lucky (PUNK) :p
I'm on a SB Live! Value.. On it for 2 years and it works great serves me well.

I'm using a TB Santa Cruz. Very good sound especially when listening to music or recording. Would eventually like to get a professional card since I do a lot of audio recording/processing (i'm a guitar player).
AOpen(Yamaha DS-XG) SW724, I got it for free, and I have not tried to record from it yet, but it's better that the onboard sound (ESS1869e).
Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo II
Sounds great, and it's cheap! :D
