... This is just great... I did a lot of financial things, such as input credit card information and such, and now my Ad-aware showed Win32.trojan and Trojan buddy or something along that line... what should I do?

Do you have anti-virus software? If so, update definitions, turn off system restore, boot in safe mode and scan.

Format and monitor your bank accounts closely.

Tell your bank/CC company ASAP!

As for what to do with the notebook: reformat is the only way.

The pain medication must have been working well when I first read your post because I completely skimmed over the financial aspect of your concerns. I agree with the majority as to reformat the drive(s) and manually re-enter the data if you do not already have a secure and clean back-up.

Someone has bad browsing habbits and doesnt keep their computer safe.

Reformat, you never know what may get left behind.

Then get a firewall, get anti-virus and keep it up to date, and stop visiting every link or reading every email sopmeone sends you, which, obviously you do, or must have, and dont let other people use your system if you do.

Once you learn about root kitting you will want to format alot more. Most likely what you have is harmless to your account, but why take the risk?
