I'm having some modem issues...basically I can surf for around 10 minutes no problem and then my modem will hang for about a minute...not hang up, but pause.
I figured it was my cheap modem I had, so I bought a new one last week at the computer show...nothing spectacular, one of the Intel HaM modems...at anyrate, the new modem is much nicer and connects faster, but has the same problem.
I use earthlink as an ISP, and have it loaded on another computer that seems to work fine.
I figure it could be my phone line perhaps.
Another thing I was thinking was IRQ sharing. My modem supports it, but right now its sharing IRQ 9 with 3 other devices including my NIC. Could this cause a problem? Maybe I should move the modem off the NIC's IRQ?
BTW, IRQ sharing is enabled in the modem's properties.
Anyway, any further insight would be helpful...it can get frustrating at times...
