New Build Laggy Windows??

Hi i purchased new parts BIG upgrade from rig in sig lol

AMD AM2 4200
Asus M2N-SLi Deluxe
1GB CORSAIR RAM 6400 XMS
LEADTEK 7900GS
TAGAN 480W PSU

I have used the previous install of windows as i have alot of stuff that i cant loose as i am still at Uni. I have had alot of issues with windows and software being laggy is there anyway of fixing this?

This is your problem... the fact that you didn't perform a clean install of Windows after changing all of that hardware, primarily the MB. Make a backup of all the data you can't afford to lose, then perform a clean install of the OS.
