Max Number of Fans on one 12v cable?

Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this question in.

What is the max (safe) number of fans that you can chain off one 4 pin power cable on a PSU? I have a few Artic Cooling AF12025 fans (3 pin connection) and a shortage of 4 pin power cables to use (using 3 pin to 4 pin adaptors). So how many can I put on one cable? And does anyone know if they make a SATA to 4 pin power cable, because I have plenty of SATA power cables? TIA

Your limit would be in resistance, wich is highly unlikely to be a problem at all.

Try looking for SATA to Molex (the 4 pin).
I seem to find plenty the other way around (molex to SATA power adaptors)

you will probably run out of room before you run out of available power (for lack of a better term).

I seriously doubt you are going to make the case into fans so you shouldnt have any issues BUT you do have to take in all the other peripherals as well (CPU, GPU HDD etc)...

No such thing as SATA to 4-pin Molex, is there? Every shop I've asked say it doesn't exist.

My guess is the number would depend on how many Amps each fan consumes. Some are high, some are pretty low. But you can fit a pretty good lot.

I only want to chain 4 fans off one cable. Each fan uses 0.13 Amps (according to the stats on the box of an Arctic Cooling AF12025 fan). So there shouldn't be a problem doing this, right? I really appreciate all the replies.

pretty low in power, and your PSU is beefy.. sounds more then cool to me :)

Yeah... your video card easily draws over 20x the wattage of those 4 fans, and ill bet its not the only thing on its 12v chain.
