you have simply unlocked the startbar and made it double thickness.. ensure that your startbar is unlocked by right clicking it and grab the top edge and drag to resize

Interesting, I forgot that feature was even there - I've only ever noticed the problem happening when explorer crashes...

which is exactly why i use aston shell. the only time explorer.exe is used now is when i am browsing folders on my harddrives, if it crashes or hangs, oh well.
