Hey guys, I really need your help. I have had enough of Netgear and their routers, and now I am currently looking for a good wireless router for under 50 bucks.

I've been to a few sites, and this router (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833162173)caught my eye. It got good customer reviews and seems decent.

I would like to get the router from Compusa since I have a gift card there. I also like this router (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=BROWSE&N=200716+10&Ne=500000&product_code=299891&Pn=Wireless_G_Broadband_Router)

In fact, is there nay router on this page that really stands out? I'll pay the extra if it's really good
http://www.compusa.com/products/products.asp?N=200716+10&Ne=500000&Cn=Networking_Wireless_Routers

I don't know alot about which routers are good, soany help would be great.

Thanks for the help.

I have two WRT54GS, and I love them.
They are both version ones.
Both are using custom firmware.

If you do get a WRT54GS, stay away from version 5.

It's a good router and capable of modified firmwares according to openwrt.org

Oh man I'm not good with this firm ware and stuff. All I really wanted was a tech support based on U.S. soil and a router wtih good range. I went ahead and bought this D-Link MIMO router (http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=BROWSE&N=200716+10&Ne=500000&product_code=335039&Pn=DI_634M_Wireless_108G_MIMO_Router). It was $30 instant savings today, and with my $20 Compusa gift card, I saved $50 on a $100 router. If everything goes wrong, then I'll go eit the Linksys, thanks.

dude try a linksys router. At walmart or target, get a WRT54G. There not the best as WRT54GL but there only 49.99 at target or walmart. I have one and im 25 feet away and i get very good signal. ive had no problem with it so far ad i had in for about 2 weeks.

careful, the wrt54g from wally world will prolly e a v5 or 6, which stock seem to suck, but with dd-wrt put on them seems ok (ive been playin with a V5)

I got mine and didnt install new upgraded software and it works fine. Havent had any problems with it so far. Ive been disconnected once and a while but in 30 secs it connects again.

I think the dlink mimo router is better than the nonmimo routers that popped up on this thread.

My dlink mimo just died. Not 30 minutes ago. so I installed the old netgear I had with my AOL voip and bingo back in busines. I will not own another dlink product. I do have an old 604 router that works well but their wireless stuff sucks. I've had the 624 and 634m both are dead. I also have two pci cards that are of no use now. Never again. Not tried linksys. But netgear seems to have a great product.
