View Full Version : Stacker 810 PSU Install Question
Hey, I recently purchased a Coolermaster Stacker 810. Love the case and all my gear is installed already, but I'm wondering if it matters which way I install the PSU.
I have an OCZ Gamestream that has a 120mm intake fan on the bottom. Since there's an intake grill of sorts on the bottom of the Stacker I figured it would be OK to mount it as normal, but would it get better cooling flipped upside down? I'm going to have to be redoing some things in there anyways when I install my lighting soon, so I just figured I'd switch it around then if I need to, but I couldn't find much info online saying if one way was better or not.
Any advice?

Why on earth would you flip it upside down? The intake grill is to take hot air out of your case. Assuming you have a normal case if you point the intake grill at the ceiling of the case, then it simple won't be taking ANYTHING out of your case. That doesn't make any sense.

the stacker 810 has dual psu mountings, one at top like normal and one at the very bottom
to they op, (i'm assuming you have the psu in the bottom slot) imo it wouldn't make much diff which way it is facing cooling wise. the bigger factor is wire management. i have my psu mounted in the bottom (mine only as front and rear fans so orientation doesn't matter at all) and i had it upside down when it was setup atx so all the wires were against the mobo tray. i flipped it back the right way when i fliped it to a btx for the same reason.
i choose to mount mine at the bottom so i could use the to slot for the 2 x 80mm fan adapter which sucks way more hot air out of the case than the psu

Yeah, I guess I made the assumption that everyone here was pretty familiar with the case. The original stacker (the STC-01 or whatever) had PSU mounting points at both the top and bottom. The 810, which I have, just has the lower mount, so my PSU sits in the very bottom of my case.
