Just wonder if there is any way of getting more then 2.75 gigs of ram to show up and get used by windows xp pro with sp2. I have 4 gigs of Ram and only 2.75 shows in windows but in the bios it shows all 4 gigs. I was reading an article the you go into the boot.ini file and add /3 gig and it alows each progam to use 3 gigs of ram instead of 2 gigs. Just wonderingif 2.75 is the limit for this OS.

That switch only works (/3) when a program has a specific piece of code in it that allows for the program to use up to 3gb. It will do nothing in relation to allowing XP to use more than what you see. The other 250mb is being eaten up by windows resources and cannot be seen.

It has a hard limit of 4GB, but due to different hardware configurations, up to 2GB can be reserved for certain pieces of hardware or the OS.
