itunes 7 and ipod video

OK i JUST got a new ipod video 30gb...(my orginal started wiggin out... wouldnt even start) n e ways i got my ipod hooked it to my computer with itunes 6 ... it got recognized i changed the name on the ipod and yadi yada..... N E WAYS i updated to itunes 7 and itunes 7 does not want to recognize the ipod... even though windows recognizes it perfectly fine....

I kno itunes 7 is VERY buggy but i would like to be able to get the new frimware update seems as how you now have to do that through itunes its sort of important for itunes to actually recognize the ipod.

HAS any one expierenced this and been able to fix it?

The only thing I ran into, is that it took at least 10 min for it to recognize the Ipod after I upgraded to 7. I was beginning to think nothing was going to happen. I just left it plugged in for a few hours.

I did not have any problems, but iTunes seven was the first version I installed, but I heard that iTunes can take a longer than expected time to recognize your iPod the first time. I have not had any problems with iTunes itself so far, it is just a little weird working.

I know this doesn't solve the problem of updating the firmware on your iPod but have you tried using Winamp (with ml_iPod plugin installed) with your iPod?
