Is it true that I can use my 20 pin PSU to power a 24 pin MOBO using a converter. Any drawbacks?
Are all the 24 pin MOBOs too big to fit in my old case?
Thanks

I am using a 20pin PSU to power my 24pin mobo by way of a converter
also, the mobo's are the same in size =D

AFAIK, most 24-pin boards are the same size (except for server ones). You can use the converter, but the drawback is that you still only have 20 wires coming from the PSU, extrqa ones would reduce resistance/heat generation on those rails. So you'd probably get better power from a 24-pin PSU. Also, you can often just plug a 20-pin PSU into a 24-pin socket and have it work (no adapter needed). Just look at a pinout diagram for the 24-pin and the 20-pin connector to make sure you get it in the right spot (otherwise the results could be bad).
