I need to block some sites, but can't find anything but popup blocking built in to firefox. My wife is severely addicted to GReys Anatomy and Law and Order SVU and I need to limit or eliminate her access to those sites and http://www.fanfiction.net/.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

HA HA! She taking up to much of your computer time?
I'll see what I can find here at work (don't have firefox installed just yet). Regardless, I'd search the add-ons / plugins section of the firefox website. I'm very sure they have something that you can use to block specific sites.

If you are using a router you could always just set your router to block that site.

add those sites into your hosts file to point to localhost
for help http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file
then it just looks like the website doesnt work
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (open with notepad)
if you have problems with firefox

why dont you just unplug the ethernet cable from your computer when your not using it?
Or.... talk to her?
I fail to see the problem in Grey's Anatomy and Law and Order SVU.

Or.... talk to her?
Yes... that would seem like the best solution...

Parental controls are not a part of FF or many other open source projects as they are orthogonal to the free, open flow of information, which is a goal of open source. (Or at least that's how I see it.)
Societal issues should be solved with societal methods.

thanks for all the response :P
I have talked to her and I told her now i know how you felt when i was living on WoW. I dont have time to play 40hrs a week now that im working 50+.
Add those web sites to the image blocker under the options tab in FF. She will still be able to get to the site, but then she will think its all screwed up.
