WT*.. XP Reformat?!?!?!?!?!?

:mad: I musta blinked & missed the news about this 1.
Any 1 know what's up with "Having" to reformat the HD when installing a XP.
I am/ was going to purchase an 1500 TODAY, but if I have to reformat my HD to do it......I'll pass. I have back-ups of everything. And have even "GHOSTed" my C:
This TOTALLY SUX.
What's up with it? This is the 1st time I've heard of this.
Or did I read it wrong ( post in AMD CPU's switch 1.33/200...)

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

yeah thats right that post you mentioned( post in AMD CPU's switch 1.33/200...) there someone said that you must reformat your harddrive before insatalling an XP CPU but i dont now is that right or wrong but i believe she was telling true because i have no experiences with XP CPU-s sorry.

I think this sucks that everyone have to reformat their HDD before using an XP CPU.

I think u just got to reinstall windows...
boot from windows boot diskatte
delete the boot files from C:...
under a:\ type Sys C:
and reinstall windows

I did not have to re-install, or format anything. I just flashed the BIOS (because I needed it), and went from there. My system has been running great. Why would you?

I understand the possibility of reinstalling windoz, but having to reformat the HHD????!!!
Com-on....can't be serious.
Reinstalling windoz is for MB swaps, HHD swaps, BUT CPU SWAPS ???? naaaaaaa----:rolleyes:

I have the BIOS flash ready to do; (upgrrade for XP on the KK266+ Iwill mb), just waiting to get the cpu.
