I haven't been around for a while and was wondering what would be the more powerfull chip? Also, is it worth it to just buy the Tualatin instead if the Celly? I'm sort of on a limited budget so the CD0 PIII or Celly III is more in my range right now. Does the Celly III have 8-way or 4-way cache like the Celeron and CII models? Thanks in advance, like I said I've out of the loop for a whlie.

The Cellie III is, for all intensive purposes, a P3 in sheeps clothing :). (check this thread (http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1017) for my comparison/proof)

"Celeron" is becoming more and more of a marketing gimmick for Intel now.

if you already have a bx, or via apollo pro 133A lying around get the cDo, if you need to buy a new motherboard, get the 1.2Celly, also STAY AWAY FROM IWILL BD133U, i got that board, and it is incompatible at this moment with 1.2 Celly....

Well my current setup is:
ASUS TUSL2-C
Radeon 64MB VIVO
Sound Blaster 16
IBM 15GB ATA-100(Deskstar I think)
PIII 700 w/pep66 and Delta Black Label
Corsair 256MB PC150 CAS2
I haven't benn messing with OC'ing it much.... I liked my SH6 better for overclocking cause I could underclock my PCI bus and get better stablity @ 130fsb 1.95VCore.....but anyhow, I got this ASUS now and want to know what I can do with it....

Since you already have a tualatin support board go with the 1.2 Tually and see if you can get an SK6.

I agree with Yodums ;)

Except for the SK6... I know someone who has their SK6 sitting on the shelf while he chooses to use the Glaciator II :). It's a real sweet cooler!!

Well guys I'm gonna have to stick with the Pep66 for a while since I know that the SK6 costs a bit....but I think the Pep66 with the 38cfm Delta provides adequate cooling...and I got 2 120's a 92 and 2 80's cooling my box....I'm gonna add 2 more 120's to my case.....Peace

Well from experience I would say the TUSL-2 makes a good frisbee:D

It is not a good OC'n board for this chip. I wouldn;t even call it a good board for much period. Not as good as the ST6 but you didn't know that. Hopefully you don't burn up your chip cause of the high AUX voltage setting otherwise known as vtt voltage. It is funny that intel went through all the trouble get that setting down to 1.25v(Otherwise known as vrm 8.5 and fcpga2) but yet the ASUS TUSL-2 keeps it at 1.7v+. They must have kept the vrm 8.4 but then fudged it "abit." ABIT is the better board. The tusl-2 keeps the tulatin .13u core hotter than it should be. I got my old tualatin to 1.5GHz on 1.6v and it was solid as a rock. That is good it with only 1.6v but I have seen other people with the TUSL-2 need upto 1.675+v to keep it stable at that speed. I think all the first 1.2 tualatins came from the phillipines so they should all be pretty equal.

When I am talking about tualatins I am talking about .13u PIII's no the celery here.
