When using cool bits to overclock, how can you adjust the scale so you can get higher than 220/500? My new MSI Geforce3 200Ti
has made it to that no problems and I think it will go higher. I saw an article a long time ago on how to change it but I forgot where I saw it. Thanks

I gave up when I hit this wall. You're right, there is a mod... so instead of wasting time learning yesterday's technology, I gave up and used powerstrip :).

Power strip has a stupid note come up every time u turn the pc on though... I have the code to redister it but I can't find the register button anywhere!!!

That is why I want another way other than powerstrip.

I tried powerstip but it won't let change my mem clock to more than 500MHz also. I know it will do more.

AFAIK, the only way to change the maximum Core and Memory Clock settings...is to use a hex editor. You might also be able to do the same thing with the Nvidia BIOS editor, which you can find here...

I could be wrong, but I believe that programs like the Coolbits hack (enabling the "Hardware" tab in the Display Properties), NVMax, RivaTuner, Powerstrip, etc. read the chip's PLL to determine the maximum allowable clock settings.

In using the BIOS editor, you would have to find the "Memory Clock Word" and the "Core Clock Word"...and edit the register(s) accordingly. You would then save the *.rom file and then use "Vgabios.exe" to test out your modded BIOS.;)

Nvida: Use NVMax, RivaTuner

ATI: Use Radeon Tweaker, R3DTweaker

WHAT????:p
I just asked for a prog like nvmax that changes the clock speed for a 8500!!:D

I don't have a clue what you meant!!!!....

If you could explain i'd be grateful and thanks for replying!

My misunderstanding; I understood you to ask how you would go about increasing the maximum allowable clock speeds...as seen by Coolbits, NVMax, etc. Sorry for the confusion, and happy overclocking.
