How can I modify the Boot.ini file in Windows XP ? I can't find it anywhere, and I can't modify it in MSConfig.

Boot.ini is in the root of your C: drive (or whatever drive you installed XP on). If you don't have the viewing of system files enabled you'll need to go into the Folder Options and enable that.

After you have it viewable you can just double-click it and it will open in Notepad.

One more question, does Boot.ini work by it's own to select the partition, or does it require another program to start and ... Cuz I would like to know if I could just create this file on another comp and make it a dual boot !

Takes several files. Think there are seven altogether needed to boot into Win2K. Most of them are right there in the root where the boot.ini is.

Another way to get to boot.ini in WinXP is the following:

Control Panel - System - Advanced - Startup and Recovery - System Startup - Edit
