My old computer stopped working when i switched it from my room to the spare bedroom. All i did was unplug it and roll it into another room. Now, whenever i try to start it up, it gets past p.o.s.t. then says "verifying dmi pool data.........." what does this mean and how do i fix it? everything in bios is setup correctly as far as i can tell, so what is wrong with it?

"Verifying DMI pool data" is part of the bios. Maybe clearing cmos might clear it. Just remove the battery from the board for several minutes and place it back. Once you reboot the pc there will be a part of the boot up process that will show: Hit DEL to set up" Or "set up defaults" Either click the DEL key to enter bios and reset evrything manually or select "setup defaults"

Be sure evrything inside is connected. Might also be something came loose.

i cleared cmos, unplugged all unnessecary components, and tried different hd's, all of them stop at verifying dmi pool data!!! i figured it was a process on the motherboard that was just malfuctioning but i cant figure out how to fix it. :bang head

you need to reset the bios. if that doesnt work then unplug your computer, switch off your PSU and take out your battery and leave it over night. If that doesnt work then do both :)

if that doesnt work then you have a different problem than me when I got that message

Whenever I got that message it was because I had my RAM running too high.

Check and make sure that BIOS is still booting ACPI hal

Also try resetting configuration data (may show up as reset ESCD)
