Sata 2 problem with mobo maybe

I think somthing within the mob may be causing an issue with the reason to my problem.

I set the jumper on the hard drive to work at 150/sata1 and updated the Intel chipset to the latest (8 something). When i transfer a 700mb file from the sata to any drive it takes 4 minutes whereas any drive transfering this same file to each other, not this sata drive, only takes 20 seconds.

Ive given up.. maybe someone can help me out please

mobo is in the specs.. P4p800 Deluxe
