Hi all!
Been browsing through the forums for a few weeks now and ive finally decided to join.
Now on to the point :) im about to upgrade to the Opteron 165 or 170 still debating but just wondering w/ my current psu (OCZ Modstream 450W) is it enough power for either of the cpus?
EDIT: Forgot to mention I did use the PSU calculator but i dont think its accurate.
Thanks in advance

i don't think it'll be a problem. but then again. it could be.
Considering your system isn't very demanding right now, I wouldn't predict any problems stemming from that processor upgrade. You should be able to upgrade a bit more than just your processor before your modstream gets itself into trouble.
The Opty 165 is cheaper than the 170. I've found no need for a 10x multi since this ram doesn't do much over 250. I believe I have one more ram divider upwards if I had the speed so you should be ok there.
:edit: Whoops, I misunderstood the question! As long as it has a decent 12v rail, you should be fine. If you had a higher end video card, I'd be a bit more worried but I've run hardware on lesser PSU's and it was fine. OCZ makes a fine PSU.
That PSU should provide plenty of power, and then some, for your setup. :)

My modstream 450 started to flake out when i overclocked my opty 165.
The 450 was ok running it at stock but when overclocked the psu couldn't handle it.
I believe the only difference between my rig at the time and yours is the gpu which was a 7800gt.
You might be able to squeak by with it, give it a shot first if it cant take it then buy a new psu

My X2 3800+ @2.5 runs ok with my Trueblue 480 but my gpu is only a 9800se.
Ordered a 600w supply to ensure a smooth gpu upgrade.
If your gpu is power hungry or you plan a gpu upgrade it wouldn't hurt to step the psu up a grade. :)

It should be fine, as your system stands right now (with only the cpu change of course).

Whats on the 12 v rail , I suggest to have a min of 26 amp for sli
With your power supply you really can't make a blanket statement about whether or not it can do SLi. If you just throwing in another 7600GT you'll be fine, those things don't even use 40 watts. Anything bigger though and all bets are off. Well 7900 GTs use just under 50 watts a piece so you will probably be able to run them but like I said don't count on anything thats more power hungry than that.
