Are there? I'm wondering if spending $200 to buy the Audigy Platinum is worth it. Since I don't want to spend so much money on something that gets outdated in six months. Thanx :)

It isn't 200 if you buy the version that is OEM and comes with no software. I think you can find it for like $100 US or less, I only know the prices in canada, try www.anitec.ca

I've been told that you shouldn't by OEM hardware if the hardware requires drivers, so I'm not sure if that would be a smart idea.

Ummm, who told you and what reason did they give? About the first thing I normally do when installing a new piece of hardware is go out and update the drivers. There's almost always a newer version than the one that comes with the hardware.

www.newegg.com has outstanding prices all the time, and you don't need to go searching around like you do using Pricewatch.

Not to mention they offer all manner of OEM hardware.
