Pencil mod list

Im trying to compile a list of pencil mods for a friend. Anyone know of any?


1. 6600GT pencil mod: Swipe a #2 pencil over pin "R37" which is top of the card.
2. 6600 - R87 located on the top of the card under and slightly to the left of the gpu.
3.7900GT mem voltage mod: # 2 pencil over resistor 01B
4.7900GT Core mod: D508 and D511, strkie a # 2 between them a few times, no more than 4 and dont press too hard.( Heres a full guide to this mod http://www.computerpoweruser.com/Editorial/article.asp?article=articles/archive/c0608/25c08/25c08.asp&guid= )

WARNING!!!!

I just tried this on a friends rig(with her permission of course) and the card went up in smoke!! MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE VOLTS UNDER 1.59 WITHOUT PROPER COOLING!!!! It handled everything up to there on stock cooling but then it crapped the bed.

P5N32-SLI v droop mod
on the Asus P5ND2-SLI motherboard, there is a small chip with a > sign on it, from the bottom right, 4 pins m break a peice of lead off betweeb 4 and 5, im currently looking for the pic to this mod, but it works, I did it myself.

same as the P5N32-SLI, tested by me today. Before: Voltage in BIOS 1.4000 Voltage in CPUZ-1.3 AFTER: Bios-1.400 CPUZ-1.39

6600 256mb. i had a chantech did the R87 located on the top of the card under and slightly to the left of the gpu.

someone check this. i was able to oc the card past 450mhz 550 after the pencile mod but when i used a var. ohm resistor i dident set it right and killed the card.

When it's ready, and others have had a chance to double check the data, I'll sticky it. If you'd like me to double check each item on your list I will but you'll need to provide me with one of every card/board that can be modded, make it 2 or 3 of each so I can double check my facts. ;)

thats right :) I had the same card, and performed the same mod.

I found some stuff on the X800 models, but it requires alot of modding, ill put it in last, cuz ill have to write up on it a little.

Increased voltage for one. It also removed the artifacts I would get before when going past 640. I also couldnt go there without failing the test. It passes it now without even disabling it.
