Help with MBM and cpu usage

I'm running MBM5 and in the CPU usage box the counter keeps showing that the cpu is at 100%. How can I confirm this is actually true and how do I fix it.

are you running seti or folding @ home?
Is your system tray full of stuff?
The 2 qestions above could be your answer: Seti uses any power it can to crunch, and folding does too, although not quite as aggressively.

Apps in the system tray are running in the background also and the more you have running the more cpu gets used.
