So..

Asus P5B-Deluxe
Core 2 Duo E6700
2gb PC5400 Ram
Seagate Barracuda 250gb SATA
Pioneer DVD IDE

I cannot for the love of god install Windows onto this.

I made the floppy with the Intel chips on, I pressed F6 when installing windows but I still keep getting the 0x0000007B error! I've tried changing different options in the BIOS like from AHCI to RAID to IDE but still nothing.

Please help!

:welcome:

I'm sure your installing it on stock hardware settings right? Just leave it on AHCI and be sure you have the right drivers. The drivers on the asus cd should work fine. It could also be a bad windows installer cd. Try using a different one too

goodluck! :)

Hey there, I borrowed my mate's installation CD and it worked! Hooray! Although at one point, Asus Probe/Suite thing said my CPU was at 80C.... I turned it on and off and its back on 40 now :S What on earth?
