The the Danger Den - DDC-12V REV2 "PLUS" (http://www.dangerdenstore.com/product.php?productid=135&cat=4&page=1) The same as the MCP350 or 355? The Eheim looks great for only 60 dollars and moves more collant for the supposed sound level: Laing DDC/DDC+ (AKA Swiftech MCP350/355), ~cost $70. The Laing DDC+ is the 18W version vs the 10W for the non Plus. With inlet/top modifications it bests the MCP655 for flow performance at slightly lower noise levels.

Pros: Very good pressure capability, very low noise (Eheim 1048 level), good for multiblock systems.

Basically I ask:
350, 355, or 1048?

I want the sound to be under like ~35db

The MCP355 is the same as the DDC-2. They are great pumps and I would suggest a D5 MCP655 if you don't get the DDC-2.

I agree with SIG

The DD pump you list should be the 18W "+" version.
If you get that pump you can get a modded top such as th eone from alphacool or the new (not out just yet) petrastechshop top. These tops will allow for more flow and 1/2" barbs.

on DD the D5 and DDC are the same price. Should I just get the D5 and run it lower? But that means I have to get a 3/8" conversion kit for it.

He wants to run 3/8" in his loop, not 1/2".

I own both pumps and Laing makes both and rates each of them at 50,000 Hrs. MTBF. The DDC-2TPMP is already 3/8" inlet and outlet and has less heat dump and more feet of head than the D5.
I replaced my D5 with the DDC-2TPMP and I have been very happy with the pump.

Which one is the 2TPMP?
the 350 or the 355? I need to know soon because I plan on ordering tonight.

Will an alphacool top really give a performance boost?

3/8" or 1/2", yes it will. The unrestricted inlet helps a lot AFAIK.

And I'll need to get barbs for it correct?

Not sure. It may come with em, it may not.

The DDC-2TPMP stands for...DDC series 2 w/Tach cable. The MCP355 should be a DDC-2 but I would email the vendor before purchasing and ask that they check the MFR: date on their pumps so that you can confirm that you are getting a recent model. My pump was made 03/06.

I WOULD get the AlphaCool top and a set of 3/8 Highflow G1/4 barbs and use the top inlet and plug the right inlet.

The DDC2 is the equivalent of the 355 then, I guess I will take my luck with it from frozencpu.com. I found the Alphacool for 24.99 there and will just get the pump there as well.

yes do that.

btw the 18w DDC2 will perform pretty much on par with the 23W-24W D5 at less heat dump

Don't forget the 3/8 barbs for the AlphaCool top.

Yeah I am ordering them from DD.

Thus far from DD I have:

Black Ice Micro II 3/8"
Tygon 3603 Tubing 3/8" ID 5/8" OD
Fillport Reservoir w/T 3/8"
Plastic Snap Tubing Clamps 3/8" 58"OD
Delrin Fillport 3/8"
Danger Den High Flow Fittings 3/8"

Why are you ordering a Black Ice MicroII? Even people with the little shuttle cases use a 120x1 rad mounted on the back. That rad isn't going to cool very well.
