Well I finally got it done, pic below!! Added Blue Orb, which took me a while to lap to a flat shiny finish, and have added ramsinks on both sides using thermal tape.

Wonder if it would be better to use thermal compound and some superglue to attach the ramsinks.

Now I am gonna see if I can reach 250/250 with stability. let the games begin LOL

Nice Job man.

Are you pluggin that Blorb into your vid card fan header? I'd suggest maybe hooking it straight into your PSU if you have an open one.

I've just had crappy results from using the vid card power.

Plugged into PSU, , now I need to use thermal paste and superglue on ramsinks instead of thermal tape

be careful though, you know very well how mayn quality video cards have met their death due to artic silver recently, i personally would use the radio shack stuff just to be safe, or do you canucks have radio shack? well get the sicilon paste, not conductive enough to screw your video card....

Ya for now I will just use thermal tape. I have heatsink compound and I will try it later on with couple dabs of superglue.

Cisco Kid, where did you pick up your thermal tape? I'm gunna be looking for some soon to attach my blorb. Do they sell it at RadioShack?

Oni,

try radio Shack or any computer or electronics store should have it but I would attach your blorb via thermal compund and a few dabs of superglue.

Sorry, I'm not going to risk my $200+ (it was a year ago) investment. If I attach it, it'll be w/ ASII thermal epoxy, but I think the tape will do nicely until such a time arrives that I can get some ASII TE. Its GOTTA be better than what they attach the fan to the GPU w/ in the firstplace, right?

It is a pretty simkple proces to remove the fan/heatsink. Just pry around the heatsink with a small screwdriver ( the type for eyeglasses) it will come off easy. Then clean off the crap with some rubbing alcohol.

I just covered the gpu with a thin layer of thermal compund similar to ASII and then put about 7 dabs of superglue all around the orb base that was lapped , set it on kept pressure for 5 minutes let sit for 30 minutes and bam it is fine and does not move.

You will get better oclock results without the thermal tape. I am gonna install my ramsinks using thermal compound

There is no way that when you put the flathead of the screwdriver between the heatsink and gpu that you will come in contact with the gpu itself. It sits in the center and there is plebty of ceraminc around it.

It is the easiest way to remove the heatsink took me 30 sec thats it not a scracth.

Ya the screwdriver works, but it's also a lot scarier. I like the freezer method personally. Works everytime.
