Where do you buy it? Dtekcustoms.com is the only place I know, It's $30, but I see lots of posts saying $20-$30. Where do you get it for $20. And whats the difference with the le version? Thanks

Is there any special reason you want a whitewater?

I'd guess they're saying $20 used. For $30 you can't go wrong for a STILL top performing block.

You can get them from cooltechnica (http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=AMD-WB) as well.

AFAIK, the LE versions of the white water have copper tops, whereas the normal versions have anodised aluminium tops. I do recommend spending abit more and getting the LE version just to be safe (to prevent the mixing of metals).

$20 is for the Socket A only block. If you have a mounting bracket for newer sockets already you can save some money by going that way. You can get the regular Universal one for $25 and the LE is $30 as you already know. I'd go for the LE unless you're on a really tight budget. $5 is a fair price to pay for security.

The White Water is still a great block. Go for it unless you have one of the newer ASUS S775 boards. Some of those have a clearance issue. I don't think other boards are affected. But those few boards cause problems with White Water, early LR Storm G4s, and flat bottomed 600x water blocks.

I'd recommend cooltechnica too. I got the cheapest socket-A Al version. cooltechnica was a little backordered and they gave me the universal mount version for no extra charge. Made delrin tops and they've been cooling ever since :D

There is a clearance issue with the Asus S775 but nothing you cant figure out. Just redrill some holes to offset the block about .080 pesto. The block is off set and temps are not effected.

The WW is still one of the best blocks out there, the only problem is the 3 barb arrangement which can be problematic sometimes.
I have the full copper version I picked up from greenman100 ages ago.

You have any pics of that? I'd love to have a full copper WW :D.

I've never actually seen any copper-topped WW. Just the poly and the alu.

All of the originals were 100% copper. Cooltechnica/DTek nickel plates the mid plate and top.

Right now it has the universal plate on it so you can't see anything but I'm redesigning my loop in few days so I'll be taking it off and I'll post pics. :)

Go grab some Never-Dull and clean it up. It will remove the tarnish without coating it with a polishing agent like Brasso will. Just clean the Kerosene residue off with some isopropyl alcohol or a dry cloth.

No need to clean it for now, as im not using it. Somewhere down the line after I finish my rig I will WC my other rigs and it may see some use.

It's just the top/top two plates.

JFettig was making Delrin tops for them if memory serves.
