Ok, so I just made my first purchase from apple, for a Macbook. I made it at ab out 11 this morning, and it said that it would probably be shipped within 3 to 5 days. 5 hours later, I got an email saying it was shipped, and a tracking number. Expected to be here Friday via Fedex. Simply amazing.
I honestly cannot wait =D
sorry i just don't like mac :(
mac sucks.
Your worthless post sucks.
If you cant contribute anything to a thread, just don't bother posting in it.

mac sucks.
And this is constructive... how?
Seriously, please post something that contributes to the thread instead of detracting from it.
@Midnight: tell me what you think of the Macbook when you get it. My boss got a MacBook Pro a few months ago and loves it! I am very tempted to get my own too...
Also, what are its specs?

Aight, I will drop a reply when I get it. I got the 1.83GHz Core Duo, 512MB of DDR2 (667), and a 60GB Sata drive.

well anyway i just got my new macbook, wow amazing. the dual core is speedy and there is no typical mac delays between actions. It is much more solid feeling the the old ibook design. It sits more sturdiery on a desk and the plastic is attached better to the frame.
Beware it heets up very quickly so make sure you dont have it sitting on a pillow, or ur lap for extended periods of time.

Macs are super nice. OSX is better in alot of ways than XP. If I ever have extra money I might get a Mac Mini because those are tight.

Wun911 that was as informative as Aman saying Mac sucks..
Congrats you have firmly established you dislike Alienware, and even in other threads, we get it thanks.
To everyone who has Macbooks, do you know if Apple is still overgooping TIM? That was guessed(probably rightly so) as one of the prime reasons that the machines were getting so hot.
*will probably pick a mac mini up after new years, I hope*
In australia a lot of the mac lap tops were recalled.....
This was about a couple of weeks ago....
Apparently some kid got hurt usin his mac book which had a faulty battery....
https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/
Have fun waiting for your new battery....... (some stores require you to return the whole laptop not just the bat)
When you wait for the new battery think of me and what a Great and Nice person I am......
When you save yout stuff in mac and then open it on an IBM at uni and it comes out semi scrambled..... think about how GREAT your mac is.
Oh and if you think macs dont freeze "blue screen of death" well guess again (Just thank God there is a reset button)....
(Yes I have used a mac we use em just to crunch numbers)
I never said I like or dissliked allan where please feel free to quote me on this!!!!!!
(Every one should get allan where this includes you Aman)

Thats not just an Australia thing. It's been all over the web that alot of batteries have been recalled, from many different companies. It's not just Apple batteries, as you wish to imply.

That cannot be faulted to a Mac. I used my iBook numerous times for working on assignments, which I would then open up on a Windows PC, with no problems. More than likely, its user error.

Nobody has ever said that Macs are not prone to freezing. However, they are far less prone to it than Windows PCs. Just as PCs running Linux are less prone to BSODs, but not immune.

I have! My boss runs XP with some software called Paralells. He does most of his work inside OSX, but when he needs to he will call on the Windows install. With the new Core Duo chips Parallels is allowed to run the system at real-time. He has dual monitors so he has OSX in one monitor and XP in the other.

Let me begin by saying that Mac v. PC flame wars are absolutely absurd .. "Mac's suck..." That has got to be the worst argument I've heard.
I will admit I am bias towards PC's, especially desktops. HOWEVER, I have been looking to purchase a laptop that will be used strictly for academics, and I'm looking for something that would last me through the rest of my undergrad, and later graduate studies. I was surprised when an objective analysis of pros/cons showed that a Mac product made two of my top three evaluations for the aforementioned purpose.
-- I build / repair / customize PC's at my university to make a little extra cash, and I will say that even I have been surprised at my own recommendations to others regarding the purchase of Apple products.
For video editing and academics it is my personal opinion that Apple/Mac products are better suited and more cost effective. My modding / tinkering heart tells me that any gaming / high performance rig will always be PC based. I will never be so blatantly ignorant as to say "PC's are better" or "Mac's are better." I will however say that objective analysis of each product will show that each is tailored for, and better suited to specific needs.
As far as customer service goes, I have to say that I have never been anything but HUGELY impressed with the quality of service offered by Apple.
I'm glad that everything is working out for you with your new Macbook, there's nothing worse than finding a bad-egg after you've made a purchase.

i too am considering a MAcBook in decemeber if they come out with them with core 2, ijust liie the 13" size as it would be great for me to use as a small laptop for taking with me on trips to the beach and stuff for my photography, 12" is too small, 14" is so so, so 13" seems just right!

Got it today, and my first impressions are that this thing is amazing. It's blazing fast on everything i've done, even with the default 512MB of RAM. The screen size, being the 13.3", is still large enough for multimedia, and is crisp.
All in all, I am completely satisfied with my purchase.
(Sorry the details are short, but i've got the flu right now, so i'm not up to typing out a long detailed summary)

Supposedly there is a bulletin on the Macbook right now for people with loud CPU fans, the fix involves a new heatsink I've heard. What I don't know is if they actually replace the heatsink, or just scrape and reapply the correct amount of thermal compound :D
