Does anyone know how to dye plastic?I heard you can take clothes dye and boil water with what you want dyed and it will work.Does anyone have the specifics on how to do it?

it depends on the plastics, best idea is probably to get a big book like an ici one and see, infact, my grandad wrote one...

Ok, it's not really dye but that's what they call it. The local auto parts should carry it. It's used for spraying door panels, consoles, plastic parts on a car. I have used it before to change the color of a console I put in an El Camino once. Works fine, however spray paint works fine too, just scuff the plastic with some fine sandpaper and the paint will stick. Gimme my 29.95!:beer: :burn:

I used some rit dye to dye my plastic lacrosse head. I used boiling water and the color took pretty well. I did two colors with hot glue to cover parts I wanted to stay, I got a pretty good swirl effect. It really depends on the type of plastic though, I tried the same with my mouse and the color on partly took.

Like mw521 said go to the auto parts store and get some Vinyl die a name brand is VHT.
