Should I go with the Viewsonic E790B or the NEC FE950+ and why?

NEC is crap.. thats the brand i have.. and the quality sucks.. viewsonic or sony is about the best u can get. are u just looking for a black monitor? tell me what ur looking for?

I' ve got a Nec (see sig) Flat Screen but not thin
I think it is a great monitor-little pricey but still reasonable

I'm thinking about buying that monitor too. It has a 3 year warranty and according to epinions.com(NEC FE950) no + the monitor seems pretty good. Here are some of the reviews (950+ and 950)

The Viewsonic is not a flatscreen, plus it uses shadow mask. The NEC is a flat creen using an aperture grill.
If anybody can recommend a flat screen, 19inch black monitor for under $350 including s&h, with a good quality image, please let me know. I'm still searching... Thanks:)

Sony and Viewsonic can be a bit pricey. I grabbed a NEC flatpanel recently and it looks much like a Sony ;)...

I also have a friend who grabbed a used 19" NEC and the image quality is awesome.

My personal experiences have been good with all the above brands, but for price/features NEC may actually be the best choice.

You pushed me over the edge:eek: I've been resisting buying the NEC950+ because I just bought a G3 Ti/500. Here goes my order to Provantage, $353 including shipping. Thanks a lot:p

I was able to buy a NEC E1100 from an Internet comapny that went belly up and the monitor appeared to have never been used. Sony makes a damned nice product as well as that was what I used to use exclusivly but I couldnt pass up this bargain.


Did I mention I paid $186 +45 for shipping.

id go for the viewsonic if ya got the dough, they are some of the best there is out now. a good 19 inch will cost ya though
