I just got a t-bird 1000 (200MHz), bunged it in and the BIOS say that it is a 750!
I played around with the multiplier and FSB and it clocked up 935. If i set the multiplier to x10 (as it should be) it wont even post!? Tom's Hardware do a guide saying what the L6, L3, L4 bridges should be and acording to that it is a t-bird 750.
The chip says it is:-
A1000AMT3C
ASHHA 0135UPDW
96848160017

Cpuid says it is at 750 too.

What is going on?
:eh?:

Here is a pic showing what the codes mean...

Post your system specs, and maybe we will have some suggestions. It looks like your cpu is indeed a 1.0ghz, so there is some other prob.

Also, looks to me that it is a 266, not a 200.

Set your jumper to 133 fsb. Go into bios and set every thing to auto, it should boot up and post at 1,000 mhz. It looks like you have a 1 GHz 266 fsb chip.

A1000AMT3C C = 266

100 X 7.5 = 750
133 X 7.5 = 997.5

You got an Athlon 1GHz 266.

First of all, Welcome to the forums.

First the good news, you have a "C" code (266MHz) CPU.

Now the bad news. According to the Soltek website, the SL-75KV2 uses the first generation VIA KT133 chipset. This chipset is known not to support the FSB much above 110MHZ. That being the case you'll have to set that CPU up as a 200MHz CPU, 10*100. (disclaimer, a few people have reported getting 133MHz out of the KT133 chipset, but very few)

Not all is lost though, that is still a good CPU, and you may well get much more out of it depending on how high your multipliers go.

Beyond that, a motherboard upgrade is in order.

Good Luck!

can I add that he will have to unlock his processor to get at any multipliers higher than 7.5X! Just get an HB pencil and tinker for a bit:p

good luck!

You probably dont want to hear this but dont feel to bad. I have a Atholon 950 that runs at 0 cuzz i fried it in about 15 seconds after power up. There...that should make u feel better!

Iv got to hand it to you, thats the most impressive UNDERCLOCK i have ever seen. I can seem to get mine below 550.

Can`t get it under 550.....Jeez. I dont usually do this but I will make an exception this time only. E-Mail me and I`ll tell ya how I do it and the best part is "it runs really cool" room temperature to be exact. ;)
