I just thought I would drop a line and tell about this in case it might help others. This has me confused to this minute and I am not sure why this happened so if there are any thoughts on it please feel free to add em.
I am one of the unfortunate souls to have an Nvidia 6600GT gfx card and an NForce 3 chipset motherboard and we all now the troubles that brings up. I had a Wal-Mart special KDS 17" LCD monitor and was having the usual what seemed to be driver conflict problems with the pausing and stuttering in games as well as the blue screen of death about once a day. I needed a new monitor to go with my new conputer I am starting to build to keep the orriginal monitor with this computer when I give it to the kids so I ordered a Dell 20" widescreen and recieved it yesterday. After I hooked it up and got it running my stuttering in games and pausing in games was history and as of 24 hours after the fact I have not gotten a blue screen.
I never installed any other drivers with the monitor as the drivers for my gfx card already supported 1680 x 1050 resolution. I have not ran anything to check my FPS because I have recently had to reinstall Windows and never downloaded AM3 again because I was tired of trying to get any decent results with this combination but I garauntee it is vastly improved.
I am not saying for anyone in my boat to run out and buy a new monitor but if you have a spare lying around you might give it a shot and maybe some of the more expert experts here can explain why this happened because as I said I am dumbfounded.
