How much ram is to much ram...
I mean come on who really needs more than 512megs unless your doing CAD/Animation etc.

Yea if you're doing some intense 3d animations like movie editing and Cad3d then you need 512megs of ram. (or if you play games but they dont need more than 512).
Win 98se will not take more than 512megs of Ram without problems. Win Xp will take like 2 gigs or Ram, basically anything based on the nt kernel will take a least 2 gigs or ram. Win 2000 advanced server will take like 4 gigs!!

I recently bought a gig (256x4) of crucial pc 133 cas 2 ram. I do some graphics and stuff. for most things 512megs is more than enough ram.

i have 768mb of ddr.. i had 3 slots, and memory was really cheap.. so i just bought 3 sticks.. might as well.

heh, ill probly get 1.5gigs after curcial has 512mb sticks of 2100 ddr.

yea i know, i said that win xp will take at least 2 gigs of ram. not just up to 2 gigs.

i have 512 megs of ram for the hell of it. i play lots of games but that dont need more then 384.

Curently running one stick of 512mb and one of 256mb with WinXP I truly believe any more would be a waste of money.
