Is it ok to mix ram companies?

On my laptop, i just installed an extra 512 megs of ram. the original ram is mosel, and the ram i just installed is kingston. They both have the same timings @ 133 mhz (2.5,3,3,6) which i lowered to 2.5,2,2,5. But i was wondering, are there any performance effects to using ram from different companies?

I have 4x 512mb of DDR400 all 4 are different makes and ive got my venice 3000+ @ 2.6ghz with 3-6-6 12

There's a higher risk of getting memory errors when running in dual channel mode.

Not really. As long as their specs are identical, it doesn't really matter at all.

There could be problems if each stick has differnt default Voltages.
