Windows Setup Not Detecting drives

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I've been through other posts and none seem to help with my problem

Here we go.... I replaced the bios chip on my board after a bad flash.
after booting and changing my clock speed to the right on 2400(133)
i get to the windows screen and neither of my USB's (Mouse or Keyboard work)

I checked the Bios and the 2.0 controller is enabled and the keyboard and mouse are set to DOS. So the I was told try windows repair. OK No Prob. I inserted the xp home edition disk. and it says did not detect drives.

I was then told to load the drivers for my Raid.... ok did that.. still no disks

I have Ide cables for my drives no sata.
I see the drives when I go into the bios setting utility in DOS.
And I see them listed when it scans for devices on start up
so i know there there. I did check the seating and cables and everything is fine. but when I run Windows Repair "No Dice":bang head

Here are the spects

abit IT7 Mother board
htp374 raid
845 intel chipset pentium 4 2.4 ghz
2- Maxtor 125 gig (7600rpm) drives
6 usb ports and no serial ports

this comp was built for me so no brand
I would really appreciate any help in diagnosing this prob

thanks ..... cause I don't have much hair left and my roomate wants me off his comp:mad:

Have you checked drive management? They may just need to be enabled through that.

Right click on My computer -> Manage -> Click on Storage -> Disk Management -> then you will see on the right hand side the different devices you have on your computer labeled Disk 0 Disk 1 and so on. You should notice that one of the disks is probably not partitioned. Partition it and give it a label such as E drive or F assuming you have a cd or dvd drive(s). After partitioning restart your computer and you should immediately see it in My Computer. Hope this helps.
