Ok so the the new Celeron Tualatins are the same as a Pentium 3 Tualatin just they run at a lower fsb, right? So is the smp instuctions disabled in the Celeron? Just wanted to know.

I think Intel has been quoted as saying that
'we're not saying it doesn't work (smp capabilities), but we're not going to support it'

So it is smp capable, but it'll say it isn't on the box.

Though someone please correct me if I've heard wrong.

I think you're right, it says uniprocessor on the box, but no one has been able to verify it either way.

I wish I had $400 hundred to spend on a dual board two celerons and some new ddr memory about now.

Dare I say it?..

Yeah, why not:

Go AMD on your next upgrade. Dual Palaminos would kick dual Tualatins all over the place :) .

I'm no die hard Intel fan, I use what's convenient, for now the Tullie system is all I need, but when I look to upgrade next, it's AMDs all the way. Why not? They're cheaper and faster? Duh!! ;)

Actually, i experienced all kinds of troubles when building Intel system and working with them.. pretty much the opposite of what everybody says..intel is stable and so on...
Anyway, i, personally, think that AMD is not only fast, but it is reliable at the same time, for i NEVER encounter anything with AMD. Uh..but i am still with Intel so far..strange..

Yea the AMD Palomino will provide some kick arse dual power.

But the Dual Tualatin I find very handy and cheaper..

I don't think Intel has as much problems.... I think AMD has more problems one being heat..

I have a friend who's running a pair of 1.2 gig cellys with a Supermicro P3TDG - I think that's the correct model number. He's not having any problems that I know of.
