yeah

think i should test out the chip or just sell it and get a newer pack date? :P

Try it then sell it on if it's not as good as you wanted.

I think Week 26 is pretty good. We may have different weeks, but my week 24 E6700 clocks like a dream (Newer is better ;))

I would here like to illustrate, and hopefully for the VERY last time, that there is NO SUCH THING AS A BAD PACK DATE.

The performance of these chips vary WIDELY from chip to chip. I have a friggin' week 24 chip that does 3.2ghz at 1.325 volts. And I believe Deathman's (or someone else's name who begins with a D) chip is like a week 26 or 28 and he's hitting 3.6 at like 1.52 volts.. maybe higher. So this whole deal about performance varying by week is NONSENSE. NONNNNNNNNNNNSENSE I tell you!

wernt you just boasting about how yours is a week 24 dreamchip? and how your so lucky you got a week 24 because they clock like a dream?

Nooooooo... That's a misquote. I was boasting about how my chip was a dream chip IN SPITE of the fact that it was a week 24.

And I'm pretty sure I mentioned that weeks are meaningless.

Rainless seriously u don't know what your talking about.

Packing dates can mean a lot i say this because the chips are constantly revised and tiny fixes are made to them.

These CPU's still have a lot of errors and strange behaviour as measured by INtel engineers in the labs, they have a large list of noticed issues with these and all CPU's they build

and over time continue to iron out the bugs and make small changes and tweaks to them things they don't even advertise because its all internal and 99.9% of pplk would have NFI what it ment anyway. Thus pack date can matter and can have real world impact. Because week 24 cpu's will be different from week 1 cpu's

i would revise what you said a bout packing dates rainless and before reposting go research, cause they can definently matter.

The week has very little to do with how high a chip clocks. For the most part the wafers are all identical in terms of how the chips are cut. The difference is from where is it cut.

Its no secret that the center die chip are much purer than the outer cores. Most likely he got an edge chip which is why it wont clock wel.

I've seen at LEAST, now this is a minimum, 500 posts about people's chips, weeks, and how high they overclock and at what voltage. Hell, there's at least two hundred on the "How high does your Core 2 Duo Overclock?" thread on this site alone, and at least 300 on Xtremesystems.org. If that isn't research then I don't know what is. And once again you're telling me about research without showing me any links or proving any research of your own. You show me a single link or any combination of links that proves what week a chip was made has a damned thing to do with how far they can overclock.

It takes TIME and MULTIPLE weeks to start making a lick of difference in how the chips overclock, its not like steppings.

And I'm begining to wonder when you guys are going to start cracking on me

Hahaha! I don't have time to deal with Phren and the infinite theory of "I personally didn't do any research, so YOU do some research." I got a girl coming over in TWENTY MINUTES that I met this morning. I'm meeting women at booths in TRADE SHOWS. I'm telling you... y'all need to MOVE. Unless of course you're already married. And even then! You get a new social security number when you move!
