Can somebody please tell me which of the following are worth a look...

Asus ATI X800XL PCIe Dual DVI TVOut 256Mb Graphics Card
ASUS 256MB RADEON X800GTO VIVO PCI-E RET
GeForce 7600 GT PCI Express Graphics card
ATI X300SE low profile Graphics Card 128Mb PCI-E

Currently all under £55 on eBay.

Are these cards any good? and which is the best??

NO FOR MY CURRENT RIG, I am building a DFI Ultra II rig and I'm in need of a cheap GPU!!

Thanks in advance.

OK thanks for the advise, is that the best card listed?

Currently got a couple of days to run, so I'll keep an eye on the bids!

7600GT for sure!!!!!

As a 7600gt owner (now SLI) I would tend to agree. But check this out while you're waiting for more responses...

I suggest the x800xl

Select the two, compare, and see for yourself.

It would go something like this performance-wise: 7600GT/x800xl; x800GTO; then a mile behind the x300. If the x800GTO can be unlocked to 16 pipes it would be at least as good as the x800xl.

Personally I'd take the 7600. I think it will remain usable for a bit longer than the x800s, don't get too caught up in the architecture details either just look at performance. Here's a comparison on some slightly older games: http://www.digital-daily.com/video/vgapcie_roundup_q306/ (Nothing against Dan but THG makes me :-/)

Yea... X300=crap.

The X800xl is a little bit behind the 7600GT, but they perform equally.

If you can get the 7600gt for the same price as the others then get it for sure. If the price rises to much then fall back to getting the x800xl. I think that the ASUS x800gto uses the r430 chip but I dont know if it can unlock so I wouldnt bother with it. There is no reason to even cosider the x300 unless you like to be frustrated to the point of wanting to drive your head through a wall.

7600GT because of Shader 3.0 and HDR. X800XL doesn't have those features. Both cards perform about the same.

Newegg has some perpetual 7600GT deals in effect:

BFG 7600GT for $120 total shipped after $30 MIR
eVGA 7600GTS (not sure why they made up the GTS model name) looks to be identical spec-wise to a 7600GT, about the same price with a smaller MIR.

The 7600 GT card in new condition is approx £120, so would a limit of say £60 be reasonable for my bidding purposes?

I'll let you know how I get on, thanks for all of your help fella's!

Definitely go with a 7 series nvidia or a X1 series ATI card.

look for a 6600GT, defenatly a good performance to price ratio if youve got a good CPU, and they go for around 30$ nower days, itl hold ya over until you can get the cash for a 7600GT.
