ok well I'm in the process of finding my 7800GT's max core speed im currently at 504 with 3702 3dmarks.

i left my computer off last night, because the AS5 directions say it needs to cool off to room temp every once in awhile while it's settling in.

but rivatuner put my card back to stock speeds without saving the overclock. How do i fix this? I had my core speed recorded luckily so im abck where i was but how do I get it to save the OC?

In the Overclocking tab there is a "Startup Settings." Did you check the box "Apply Overclocking at windows startup....."? And remember to hit "Save"?

i remembered to click apply overclocking but i didn't hit save. Thank you.

anyway, another problem - I've hit 522mhz(3774 3dmarks) on the core and it won't let me go any higher however my temps are 54C load (35C idle) and there is no artifacting. Maybe i should try powerstrip? or have i just pushed it to its limit?

I would say you have hit your limit, the only way to get it higher is to do a volt mod, but that is very risky.
