As you may or may not know, I am a trumpet player. I was sitting down to listen to a recording of mine (a recording of a group I'm in... the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, but that's not important), and I hear "fritz, crackle, crackle, pop, static"; then the music plays normally. I tried some other CDs and they all did the same thing. However, it didn't do it with downloaded media. I was thinking it could be the soundcard... like a short or something... but before I blew $$$ on a new soundcard, I wanted to see if anyone knew what it might be. Could also be the CDROM drive... it's 3 or 4 years old... a 32x somethinorother brand CDROM drive. Could also be that one of the two isn't taking very well to overclocking... in that case should I change the PCI divider a bit??? If anyone knows what might be wrong here, let me know... otherwise I'm just gonna start messin' around with stuff... (and we all know what happens then... )
